(October 19, 2022 – Centerville, TN) — Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative hosted a night for its members on October 13, 2022, at Houston County High School. MLEC Houston County Director Sam Fussell welcomed everyone to start the meeting.
MLEC General Counsel John Lee Williams lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and Erin Church of the Nazarene Pastor Daniel Medders lead the invocation. The event served as an opportunity for members to see MLEC’s 2022 Annual Report video, which highlighted service commitments, progress over the past year, reliability upgrade plans, community involvement, and a Meriwether Lewis Connect update. Additionally, MLEC poster contest winners were celebrated, and 2022 Washington Youth Tour delegate Aiydan Parchman was also recognized.
Door prize winners were Courtney Chatham – Orca cooler; Ada Leegan – Samsonite suitcase; Rani Walker – one-year membership to the Nashville Zoo; Terry Self – Ninja cooker; Deborah Horn – outdoor smokeless firepit; and Billy Reddick – 50 inch smart TV donated by MLConnect. All meeting attendees received an MLEC cutting board.
“Due to Covid, this is the first time we’ve had in-person membership meetings in all five MLEC counties since 2019. It feels good to be back with you,” said MLEC President and CEO Keith Carnahan. “All of us at Meriwether Lewis consider it an honor to serve you with power and broadband. Every day we strive to deliver the essential services that make your life more comfortable.”
