McEwen Outage Set Nov. 7

(October 23, 2026– McEwen, TN) – Meriwether Lewis members in McEwen should prepare for a four-hour planned power outage beginning at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, and continuing until approximately 4 a.m. on Sunday, November 8.

The outage has been scheduled by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to perform necessary maintenance. MLEC crews will use this opportunity to complete updates, as well.

The outage will affect all of McEwen. Members can prepare by making sure cell phones are charged, reminding family members to keep the refrigerator closed as much as possible, and following a family plan for anyone with special medical needs.

In the event work cannot be completed as planned, the backup outage date is Sunday, November 15, during the same overnight hours.

MLEC appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as TVA and MLEC crews complete this important work to help maintain a safe and reliable electric system. If you have any questions, please contact your local MLEC office.
