MLEC Hosting Annual and District Meetings

October brings National Cooperative Month Celebration

(September 22, 2026 – Centerville, TN) — October is National Cooperative Month, and as part of the nationwide observance, Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative will celebrate its cooperative principles and commitment to members by hosting an event in each county.

The 87^th MLEC Annual Meeting will be in Lewis County along with a district meeting on October 29 at Lewis County High School. A district meeting will also be held in Hickman, Humphreys, and Perry counties, where members in that district can hear MLEC’s annual report, meet poster contest winners and win door prizes. Dates and locations are as follows:

• Hickman County High School – Monday, Oct. 12
• Waverly Central High School – Tuesday, Oct. 13
• Perry County High School – Tuesday, Oct. 27
• Lewis County High School – Thursday, Oct. 29

Members may also participate in board elections. Candidates in Lewis County are incumbent Dr. Jeff Peery and Travis Ray Hinson. Incumbents Johnnie Ruth Elrod (Hickman County), Ronny Averett (Perry County) and William David Daniel, III (Humphreys County) are unopposed in their district.

Voting and registration for Lewis County will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Registration for all other meetings begins at 6:30 p.m. All meetings begin at 7:00 p.m.

No director’s term expires this year in Houston County, so MLEC is hosting a Member Appreciation Day outside of the Erin MLEC office on October 6. Our team will be serving free hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks and dessert from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

At all events, members will receive an umbrella, while supplies last. Also, attendees can register for the following door prizes to be given away:
