MLConnect Celebrates 20,000 Broadband Subscribers

Eight years of affordable and reliable service

(September 10, 2026 – Centerville, TN) – MLConnect, the broadband subsidiary of Meriwether Lewis, has reached a major milestone, surpassing 20,000 broadband subscribers across the five counties it serves.

Meriwether Lewis began developing its broadband service in 2018 to bring reliable, high-speed internet to members. Since then, MLConnect has grown from its first subscribers to more than 20,000 connections, demonstrating the continued need for reliable broadband.

“We are proud to reach 20,000 subscribers, but more importantly, we are proud of what that number represents because every connection matters,” said MLEC President and CEO Keith Carnahan. “It represents thousands of families, businesses, students and communities that now have access to the high-speed internet they need. We are grateful to our members for trusting us to be their broadband provider and for helping MLConnect reach this milestone.”

To celebrate the achievement and thank the community for its support, MLConnect gave away several prizes determined by random draw of all subscribers. Jerry and Sonya Cathey, MLConnect’s longest-serving subscribers, and Janice Duncan, who became MLConnect’s 20,000th subscriber in August, each received a 55-inch smart television.

From the first connection to the many more to come, MLConnect is proud to grow alongside the communities we serve. We look forward to building on that success and continuing to provide reliable broadband.
