MLEC Crews to Restore All Repairable Power Outages by Wednesday
Broadband repairs remain a main focus
(9:00 p.m. February 3, 2026 – Centerville, TN)- Meriwether Lewis is pleased to report that all members who can be safely reconnected will have power restored later tonight or early tomorrow.
This does not include locations with weatherhead damage where repairs are required on the member’s side of the meter. Members at those locations must work with a licensed electrician to complete necessary repairs before MLEC can restore service.
If you are still without power, or know of someone who is, please contact MLEC as soon as possible to ensure the outage has been reported.
Broadband Update:
MLConnect continues working to restore broadband service across the system. At this time, approximately 955 broadband outages remain. About 95 percent of broadband outages are in Hickman, Lewis and Perry Counties. This number includes outages caused by an auto accident earlier today on Highway 412 East in Lewis County, where a semi was involved in a collision with a power pole and lines. Humphreys and Houston counties are also being closely monitored each day before local crews assist in the Winter Storm Fern restoration effort.
Due to today’s setback, the rain, and large number of member-subscribers impacted, we anticipate it will be early next week before the bulk of outages are repaired. The goal is to have all repairs completed within two weeks.
Despite this setback, fiber restoration continues across the service area. Crews alongside mutual aid that are separate from electric restoration are repairing storm-related damage to mainline fiber, neighborhood connections, and individual service drops.
MLEC and MLConnect appreciate the continued patience and support of our members as we work through the final stages of both electric and broadband restoration.
