(May 8 – 9 a.m.) — With the exception of a few isolated cases, power has been restored to everyone in the Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative service area affected by the May 3 storms. Crews will be focusing on these today and will work the next few days on storm related clean up.
MLEC wraps up repairs with these final notes:
- If you are still without power, contact your local MLEC office. This verifies the cooperative is aware of isolated locations that were not returned to service once the main line was repaired.
- If the weatherhead at your home is torn down, an electrician will need to repair this before MLEC can restore power. See our website or Facebook page for additional information.
“It’s been a long battle for our communities and line crews, and we appreciate everyone’s help, patience and understanding as we pulled together following storms earlier in the week,” says MLEC President and CEO Keith Carnahan. “It is in times like this that we really take note of how special it is to live and work in rural Tennessee. Our hometowns are special.”
This is the final release for this weather event.
