MLEC knows this is a challenging time for schools, students and families. In addition to our ongoing work delivering reliable power and supporting residents and businesses as they face new energy challenges amid the COVID-19 outbreak, we wanted to share some fun, remote learning resources that touch upon our area of expertise: ENERGY.
We have partnered with TVA EnergyRight to transform the kids' Eye Spy Energy Workshop into a virtual format and will be hosting our third workshop this Tuesday, August 4 at 10:00 am CT.
The 1 hour virtual workshop will be facilitated by a professional educator and is a great opportunity for children ages 5-12 to learn where energy comes from in the Tennessee Valley, how we use energy in our everyday lives, and ways to save energy around their homes using the popular Energy Monsters.
HOW TO REGISTER
Families can register their children to attend by filling out a simple form. A link available at https://energyright.com/residential/energy-monsters/. After they complete the form, they'll receive registration information for the virtual workshop via email as well a reminder email before the workshop begins.
HOW TO ATTEND
The workshop will be hosted via Zoom, and TVA will be enacting a number of security measures to reduce privacy risks when using the platform. These steps include:
Requiring a password to enter the meeting
Disabling screen sharing and muting for participants
Disabling private chat among participants
Locking the meeting after 5-10 minutes and enabling a Waiting Room feature that allows TVA to add/remove participants if necessary
